QUIET! We have a new guest announcement…

April 11, 2015 in Guest Announcement by Darkly

Here’s what we were thinking after last week’s season 5 premiere of My Little Pony: OK, a lot of things. Many things. Perhaps too many to name in this space. Y’all have done most of the talking on social media anyway, so no need to get too into that anyway.

One thing we CAN reveal is that it gave us what we thought would be a GREAT new guest idea. Well, dudes, things worked out and we can now announce that Kelly Sheridan will be attending TrotCon 2015!

You’ll know Kelly from a whole score of things; after all, she’s been in the voice acting business for a long, long time. But most recently in our little world, she voiced Starlight Glimmer, the villain of the season 5 premiere “The Cutie Map.” That’s right: now you can ask her to do the “QUIET!” voice while you get an autograph if you so desire and as long as she’s down! Just… don’t make it happen because you literally need to be quiet. Don’t be that guy or gal, yo.

In addition to her work with MLP, Kelly has been the voice of Barbie in many of Mattel’s feature-length films starring the doll many of you may have had as a kid, plenty of anime English dub roles including Ukyo in ‘Ranma 1/2’ and Sango from ‘Inuyasha,’ the Scarlet Witch from ‘X-Men Evolution’ and much more. Starlight Glimmer also wasn’t her first foray into MLP: she voiced Melody in ‘My Little Pony Tales,’ Cotton Candy in multiple 2000s-era MLP creations and even Cheerilee in ‘My Little Pony: Meet the Ponies’ and ‘Twinkle Wish Adventure.’ Far out, right?

Sheridan is the newest addition to the TrotCon guest list, which includes the recently announced M.A. Larson plus G.M. Berrow, Brian Drummond, Brynna Drummond, Heather Breckel and plenty of awesome fandom/community guests. And are we done? Stay tuned, y’all.

TrotCon 2015 will be held July 17-19 at the Crowne Plaza Columbus North in Columbus, Ohio. Weekend badges are on sale until June for $45 with a $50 price at the door along with single-day passes. Our sponsor badges are still available as well, with chances to meet VIPs, get some rad goodies and more!

Welcome back M.A. Larson!

April 7, 2015 in Guest Announcement by Darkly

Every year, we try to bring in some new talent to the convention you’ve never seen before — after all, not all of us have the chance, time or money to travel cross-country to see different personalities at separate conventions. Already at TrotCon 2015, you can see Bryan and Brynna Drummond and G.M. Berrow — all making their TrotCon debuts.

On the other hand, there’s something to be said for fan favorites. And that’s just what our newest guest is: not just a fan favorite across the My Little Pony fandom, but someone who’s come to Columbus to hang with us before.

This July, we’re welcoming back M.A. Larson to TrotCon!

If you’re vaguely familiar with the fandom, Larson should need no introduction… but let’s pretend like everyone here is for a moment. Mitch Larson comes to us as the show’s main writers and as a story editor for season 5. In addition to penning the recent season 5 premiere “The Cutie Map,” he’s written some of the series’ beloved episodes, including “The Return of Harmony,” “The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000,” “Sonic Rainboom” and “Magical Mystery Cure,” among many more.

In addition to his MLP credits, Larson has been involved with the writing staff of Littlest Pet Shop, Gravity Falls, Kick Buttowski and Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends.

So chances are you haven’t only seen his work in MLP. Plenty to talk about, eh?

He joins Heather Breckel, another super rad guest we’ve already announced, as TrotCon alumni. Is it an exclusive club? We’re not sure. Maybe Peter New knows. Someone go ask Peter.

M.A. is far from our final guest announcement for 2015, either. Stay tuned, friends — more coming very, very soon.

In the meantime, get your tickets to hang out with M.A. Larson, Bryan Drummond, Brynna Drummond, Heather Breckel, G.M. Berrow and an assortment of community guests — plus the usual, probably coolest crowd (we’re talking about you, dear attendee! <3). Badges are $45 through June 15! After that, $50 at the door with single-day passes available at the con as well. Wanna meet M.A. and the others? Sponsor badges that include VIP perks are available, too!
