TrotCon Musicians 2019

June 20, 2019 in Guest Announcement, Programming by Kevin

Hello, friends! Let’s talk about music.

You know that, right? Oh, of course you do. You’d have to be living under a rock (or just not a regular TrotCon attendee) to not already be aware of our yearly concert, which for the last two years has been expanded to a two-day affair.

2019 is no different. Starting Friday night and going into the wee hours of Sunday morning, we at TrotCon will be bringing you some of the finest musicians the My Little Pony fandom has to offer. Well, some of the finest who applied, at least. Which is, let’s be real, a fantastic bunch.

Nah, nah, we’re not just talking ’em up without anything to show for it. Check this out.

We’ll kick things off with a variety of instrument-based performers looking to either make your ears bleed with rawk or to make you sing along to the #hits old and new.

We’ve got Luck Rock, of course. Y’all know Luck Rock. Alt rock, pop punk, catchy tunes. Dare ya not to sing along. It’s gonna go a little something like this.

Hard rock more your speed? Good thing L Train’s pulling into the station. Was gonna make an MTA joke here but remembered this is an Ohio con. Headbang with me, y’all.

Good, now keep that headbangin’ going. Because Brownie’s back. Brownie, after all, is eternal, whether they’re rocking out in the TrotCon hallways or on stage. Metal up yr flank.

Finally, get a load of MelodyBrony, who’s gonna bring a combination of hard and acoustic rock to the TrotCon stage. You’ll notice their page includes some featured names that may or may not be at our con, too. Hm. HMMM.

Once that’s all said and done, we’ll lay down our weary hands (and try to get the ringing outta our ears, probz) before the big show, as it were: the customary Saturday night rave.

And boy, what a rave it’ll be. If you’re a veteran attendee of TrotCon, you’re gonna see folks old and new here, all with one goal in mind: to make you dance. (And maybe other things? Find love? I dunno what the deal is this year. I just know there’ll be music.)

11 quality sets, y’all. Let’s dive in.

You know R3CTIFIER, purveyor of various EDM sundries. Their hardest set yet is promised, if you didn’t already have enough reason to show up. They even tossed up a TrotCon-exclusive track the other day! Ain’t that neat?

Next up, there’s JESUSKIDZ, who I think played, like, SOPHIE in their set one year? I think so? Did I dream it? Anyway, never a dull moment with this killer producer, whether it’s via remixes or original tracks. Listen to JESUSKIDZ. And SOPHIE.

PFS, or PonyFireStone, has been here before. Seen a thing or two. Played a lotta sawngs. Provided dat bass. Ain’t nothing changing this year. You should be stoked.

Wanna see what you’re getting into with Trot newcomer TPressleyJ? Check out this HarmonyCon set from earlier this year at their Coltchella. Let us pray to the gods of trap, riddim, dubstep and the like. Amen.

Let’s seeeee, who’s next? Nextmourn, that’s who. Hope ya like drum ‘n’ bass. Who am I kidding, of course you like drum ‘n’ bass. And Nevermourn’s got ya covered on that front. I mean, look, their TrotCon application literally had it in all caps under genre. And nothing else. Stick to ya guns.

Y’all hear that we got General Mumble & Koa? If you missed that news, then, uh, here! Surprise! Surprise? Below’s a lil taste of the electronic music similar to what they’ll be bringing to the TrotCon stage. We. Are. Stoked.

Some newb called Chang31ing’s coming. Has definitely never performed at TrotCon. Certainly not seven times in a row. So here’s a primer on this EDM artist you definitely don’t know. Guess we’ll let anyone with a box on their head show up these days.

PegasYs should be a fun one. I mean, I’d think so; we know a thing or two about this glitch hop/electronic artist, who’s coming back for yet another year at TrotCon. Let’s boogie.

Brilliant Venture’s video of last year’s TrotCon performance has serious production value, y’all. Take a gander below while you get ready for the 2019 set from this purveyor of total bangers.

DO NOT MAKE AN OSTERMAN JEWELERS STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART JOKE KEVIN DON’T DO IT THIS IS NOT A GOOD IDEA PLEASE JUST TALK ABOUT STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART, which is a rap/production collective whose flow, rhymes and beats are absolutely gonna lodge themselves into your brain and not let go all weekend long. Is this a prank? Are we being punk’d? Or did we really get this lucky to get them to perform?

Last but not least, D3RP1’s coming by to play y’all some dubstep, some trap, and everything in between. Water Horse is playing the set, too, making this ol’ thing two for the price of one.  Ain’t you lucky.

That’s it and that’s all, folks! A lineup with schedules is coming soon, but we wanted to get this out in the open. Because, uh, TrotCon’s in a month.

A. Month.
